Search Process
Step 1:
Develop an understanding of your company culture and objectives.
True success in any search lies with the search firm's intimate relationship with the client and very firm understanding of the role. Armed with important information and insight, we will set-out as your advocates in the marketplace to promote and market your opportunity. If necessary, we will dispel negative perceptions (not typical).
Client benefit: We are more capable of selling your opportunity; we attract the best talent because we know what top performing individuals look for and how they think.
Step 2:
Develop a company overview and position specification.
We will conduct a thorough set of interviews with the client management team/board; through this process we will identify the key capabilities needed in this position. We will complete a written Position Description outlining the qualifications and experience we seek in a viable candidate and why the company/position should be of interest to them. This will be reviewed and edited once we receive client's final comments.
Client benefit: We know the range of skills needed to make this critical hire; we will work with you to resolve any internal conflicts regarding capabilities before starting our work. Our documents will do a better job of selling; your interview team will see better candidates as a result of the company and opportunity being well positioned.
Step 3:
Formulate the search strategy; research and identify candidates.
Using our proprietary database & industry savvy research team, we will develop a list of target companies from which we will recruit candidates. This will allow us to develop a list of candidates and contacts we will speak with about the opportunity. Additionally, key personnel within relevant trade organizations, equipment manufacturers, and distributors will be identified, categorized, and contacted for networking and referral purposes.
Client benefit: We will thoroughly saturate the market to ensure broad coverage and dissemination of this opportunity among the qualified candidate pool.
Step 4:
Screen candidates; conduct evaluation interviews and present to the Client.
We will screen candidates thoroughly by using our in-depth telephone interview process tailored for the renewable energy industry and this specific role as defined by you. Position Descriptions will be shared only with those individuals who we deem qualified and interested. Resumes of that select group of candidates are presented to you and force ranked by ESI. We will articulate their qualifications and identify concerns requiring further investigation and provide you with a written summary of each candidate prior to their initial interview.
Client benefit: We will present thoroughly screened candidates that meet the mutually agreed-on criteria. Simply stated, we will not waste your time by presenting candidates who are not qualified and sincerely interested.
Step 5:
Conduct reference and background checks.
When you are almost prepared to make an offer, we will speak with former bosses, peers and subordinates to validate career accomplishments and possible fit with the position for which they are being considered.
Client benefit: We want to be certain the individual in question has represented his accomplishments accurately and will be a good fit.
Step 6:
Assist in structuring the offer.
Using the close professional relationship cultivated during the search process, we will convey to the client any sensitive candidate concerns regarding compensation or other issues. We will assist the client in all aspects of formulating and negotiating the base salary, bonus and stock option/equity package.
Client benefit: It allows you to conduct through us, tough and fair negotiations while preserving the relationship between the prospective candidate and the client. It dramatically reduces the likelihood of candidate fall-out.
Step 7:
Assist the candidate with the resignation and transition process and notify non-selected candidates.
Throughout the process of resignation from their previous employer, we are in touch with the candidate on an almost daily basis. We answer any questions or concerns and make sure he/she is prepared to deal with counter offers. If relocation is required, we want to be sure that move is going well and offer to help in any way possible.
Client benefit: ESI will be there to make sure any issues that surface are addressed immediately in order to provide a seamless transition.
